i have done it... i have gone over to the other side....
i have bought photoshop. photoshop elements 6.
it is true. it is difficult to work with. i played with it yesterday for about 2 hours, and i thought i would never get the hang of it. i played some more today, and i am learning...
i went to annette scholtz and pioneer woman's blogs, and i opened their tutorials, and experimented. and learned.
in the spirit of mothers day, i thought i would give my mother a make-over. not a real make-over, but a virtual one. i will take a photo of her, and make her a beautiful photo to give her as a gift. just what every woman wants, a airbrushed, edited, softened, un-blemished photo of herself. not that she needs much work. she is already beautiful. that is why i wanted to start with her. the photos of me will have to wait till i'm waaaay more advanced. i thought i would show you my progress. a little tutorial. 'cause i'm like, sooo advanced... not...
speaking of make-overs. my laptop has become impossible to work with. it has become unbelievably slow, and hangs constantly. i thought the hard drive was full, so i bought a portable hard drive. and dumped everything there. i even de-fragged and compressed. but then i was only using 19% of my memory, and it was slower that ever. something is eating all my processing power. a virus, maybe, or corrupt software. i couldn't even load the 'before' photo of my mother into this post, like i wanted to. so i am going to have to format the laptop. i wanted to do it tonight and tomorrow morning, but my windows cd is at the shop. so, i'll do it over the weekend. it is a big job. not the formatting, but the re-loading of the software and the drivers. fortunately, the portable hard drive is making the keeping of backups sooo much easier!
wish me luck...
